What we did in the last few months at Faith Lutheran Church!
October
During the month of October we sold Christmas Poinsettia’s and
wreaths from Squak Mountain Nursery. All funds raised go toward the
youth group going to Holden Village in May and Western States Youth
Gathering in Anaheim, CA this next summer. All the orders were due
October 28th. You can pick-up your orders on December
2nd.
Corn Maze Saturday, October 13th met at the church at 1:00pm. Once
again we headed to a giant corn maze to find our way out of
the twists and turns of this 10 acre maze, Bob's Corn
maze in Snohomish. The cost for the maze is $6.
Field of Screams!! Friday, October 26th prepared to scream!! All
Jr. and Sr. High youth headed to Stocker farms where they had a
corn field that is haunted!! We met at the church @ 7:00pm,
the cost was $10. We walked the field at night where anything can happen…even the
scarecrows came alive!
Thanksgiving
When I think of Thanksgiving images of family and friends all coming together
for one crazy day. Sharing a meal of turkey, cranberries in the shape of the
can, stuffing, sweet potatoes with extra marshmallows melted on top, and having
to unbutton your pants because you are so full of food! With all the
preparations for family visiting and the food we tend to forget all the things
which we are thankful of and the source which all blessings come from. Our lives
become crammed with things we need to do and things we want that God is shoved
to the back.
So this Thanksgiving let us appreciate all the people and things we have in
our lives. Instead of leaving it to one day to be thankful, let us start to be
thankful each day because life is a rollercoaster and we don’t know what’s
around the bend. So be thankful for friends and loved ones, for all things, but
most of all be thankful to Him who gave it all.
Blessings, ~Kristy
