Church in the world

Social Ministry is about relationships: our relationship to God, our relationship to our church,
our relationship to each other.

As a church, we strive to support our local community and the regional, national, and global agencies of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) in the Christian spirit of partnership and mutual support to those who do not share in our same economic or social privileges.

Locally, we primarily support organizations in or near Redmond. We feed the hungry homeless by providing dinners for Congregations for the Homeless housed at local churches. We support Hopelink’s ministry financially and through ongoing collection for their foodbank. We have a Back to School Drive each August for school supplies.

During the Christmas Season, a Giving Tree in our Narthex to provide gifts for Friends of Youth, and Imagine Housing families. We gather, wrap, and deliver these gifts or gift cards. We hold a drive yearly to collect clothing for Baby Corner of Issaquah. Faith Lutheran’s quilting group also donates baby quilts.

Our NW Washington Synod of the ELCA provides many services to state and global agencies. Benevolence dollars are designated for synod use as well as Lutheran World Hunger, Campus Ministries, Lutheran Community Services, and Lutheran World Relief.

Join us as we connect with our community to make a difference!
